Twaweza

We believe in the power of young people to overcome challenges, support each other, and create change. Twaweza (We Can Do It), is a youth-centered program designed to build resilience, mental wellness, leadership skills, and community support for young people navigating life’s challenges.

What We Offer

Mental Health & Well-Being Support

In the Twaweza Project, we prioritize mental health by creating spaces where young people can express themselves and access support. How do that by offering t:

  •  Peer Support Circles: Safe spaces for young people to talk, share, and heal together.
  • Art & Expression Therapy: Using music, writing, and visual arts for emotional release.
  •  Mindfulness & Self-Care – Teaching stress management and emotional regulation techniques.

Leadership & Life Skills Training

The Twaweza Project also empowers youth to develop skills that will help them lead with confidence and navigate life’s challenges. This includes:

  • Youth Leadership workshops – Equipping young people with confidence, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Community Impact Projects – Encouraging youth to take part in social change initiatives

Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention

The Twaweza Project provides crucial support during times of crisis, ensuring young people have the tools and resources to seek help when they need it most. This includes:

  •  24/7 Crisis Helpline – Immediate support for youth in distress.
  • Suicide Prevention & Awareness – Training young people to recognize and respond to suicide and mental health crises among peers.
  • One-on-One Counseling – Free and confidential therapy sessions with trained professionals.

Youth Mentorship Program

The Twaweza Fellowship connects youth with mentors who offer guidance, support, and inspiration to help them realize their potential. This is how we make it happen:

  • Empowering Stories & Role Models – Featuring real-life success stories from young people who overcame adversity.

  • Peer-to-Peer Mentorship – Building a strong support system within the youth community.
